General Announcements

  • Today please remember to be kind, respectful and inclusive to each other in our hallways, classrooms and community.
  • No school tomorrow! It is conference day for the Teachers!
  • Leadership meeting in Mme Leslie’s room today at lunch!
  • TOMORROW check out the House of Doom at 153 Lindenwood Terrace from 7PM to 9PM in support of the IWK. It is free to enter, the street is closed to traffic, and there will be free hot dogs and hot chocolate. We will start to give out tickets at 6:30, they go fast so come early! Enter if you Dare!!!!!   • There will be a Halloween door decorating contest being held at the end of the month. If your class would like to decorate their door for the Halloween door decorating contest, decorating will take place on October 30th and judging will take place on October 31st. Please make sure that there are no hanging decorations and that the window is not completely covered. Decorations must be removed after judging on Oct. 31st. Prizes will be awarded for the winning classes.
  • There will also be a costume contest. If you would like to participate, it will be held at 12:05 on October 31st in the gym. The categories are... Best duo/trio, Scariest, Most creative, Funniest, Best overall
  • Any students from Grade 6-9 who are interested in drawing, painting, colouring, creating, and cooperating on art projects together stop by Ms. Farrell’s class (Room 113) at lunchtime on Thursday to find out more information. There will be a sign-up sheet as well if it’s something you’re interested in being a part of for the school year! Art Club will be held every Thursday at lunch!
  • There is a Core French meeting today with Mme. Rodger in the modular, either at the beginning of lunch or at the end. Please note the change of date. Check the list on her classroom door for who is involved.
  • A reminder for all grade 9 students of Take Our Kids to Work Day coming up quickly on Wed. Nov. 1. Please talk to your parents, decide on your job shadow for the day and have them sign the online permission form(s) as soon as possible.
  • Bus evacuation drills today for bus safety week! They start at 10AM, we will call down your classes when it is your turn.
  • October is a big month, in this month we learn about Mi'kmaq History, Islamic History, Hispanic Heritage and Women’s History. Each day we will learn something new. I invite any students or staff to come see us with any ideas they may have on how we can celebrate and learn more.
  • This year the Mi'kmaq History Month poster celebrates Mi’kmaw Sports, Traditional Games and Pastimes such as snow snake, archery, wood working, lacrosse and dance.
  • For centuries, sports and games have grown in Mi'kmaw ways of knowing and being. They are crucial for teaching young ones how to hear, how to see, and how to move. Check out this video on Twitter to join in the fun!

  • If you have forgotten your LUNCH today please let us know in the office by 10am, come by and see Ms. Hernon or Ms. Sushmita or tell your teacher so they can let us know.
  • Healthy Hunger has a vendor on each day of the week again! Mondays and Fridays are The Lunch Lady with lots of great options.  DOMINOS Tuesday with pizza, pasta and chicken! Pita Pit Wednesdays and Kenny’s Pizza Thursdays! Place your orders a week in advance online!
