• Our students that identify as ANS, you are invited to an information session on Oct. 21, 2023, for Black students in grade 7-12 who are interested in creating change through participation in the CBSN Youth Science fair competition! Please check out the information we have posted on our website.
• October is a big month, in this month we learn about Mikmaq History, Islamic History, Hispanic Heritage and Women’s History. Each day we will learn something new. I invite any students or staff to come see us with any ideas they may have on how we can celebrate and learn more.
• Remarkable Islamic Women - Anousheh Ansari, an islamic scientist, was the first female private space explorer. She was launched off from Kazakhstan in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. She migrated from Iran to America when she was about 17. Her and her husband, Hamid Ansari and brother in law, Amir Ansari worked together and funded a company called Telecom Technologies Inc. Ansari received her bachelor's in computer and electrons engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. Soon after, she completed her masters in Washington D.C at George Washington University. Anousheh spoke several different languages, such as Persian, French, English, and Russian - which she learned for her spaceflight.

• Healthy Hunger has a vendor on each day of the week again! Mondays and Fridays are The Lunch Lady with lots of great options.  Dominos Tuesday with pizza, pasta and chicken! Pita Pit Wednesdays and Kenny’s Pizza Thursdays! Place your orders a week in advance online!

Athletic Announcements

• A shootout upset for our male soccer team. Was a tough one but they played extremely well. Kyle LeClair with the goal in the first half. Proud of our Eagles - thank you for a great season! Team picture on Wednesday after school on the field - bring your jerseys!
• Huge congrats to our female team - took the banner home in a scoreless match with a shootout win - big save by our keeper Lily Andrew. Congrats on a great season Eagles. Banner coming in today, we will set up a time for team photos!
• Male volleyball callbacks TOMORROW after school until 4:30, make sure you have a way home.
