General Announcements

  • Today please remember to be kind, respectful and inclusive to each other in our hallways, classrooms and community.

  • October is a big month, in this month we learn about Mikmaq History, Islamic History, Hispanic Heritage and Women’s History. Each day we will learn something new. I invite any students or staff to come see us with any ideas they may have on how we can celebrate and learn more.
  • Mi’kma’ki was divided into seven districts – check out the different names and districts on our tweet for the day! Protecting the water, air and the land is how we can show respect for Mother Earth. The Mi’kmaq refer to the earth as Mother Earth, the sky as Father Sky, the moon as Grandmother Moon and the sun as Grandfather Sun.
  • If you have forgotten your LUNCH today please let us know in the office by 10am, come by and see Ms. Hernon or Ms. Sushmita or tell your teacher so they can let us know.
  • Healthy Hunger has the a vendor on each day of the week again! Mondays and Fridays are The Lunch Lady with lots of great options.  DOMINOS Tuesday with pizza, pasta and chicken! Pita Pit Wednesdays and Kenny’s Pizza Thursdays! Place your orders a week in advance online!

Athletic Announcements

  • Male volleyball callback list posted on the bulletin board by the gym, last tryout is Wednesday after school until 430.
  • Female volleyball practice tomorrow before school at 7:30AM.
  • Soccer finals TODAY at Harbour East All Weather Field - females play against Astral at 4 - please be there for 3:30. Males play against Caledonia at 5:15 please be there for 4:45. Go Eagles - bring home the Tier 1 Akerley Banner!
  • Due to inappropriate behaviour events by junior high students, any junior high student that wants to attend an Auburn athletic event, including football, must have a parent/adult chaperone or present ID at arrival.  Student IDs are acceptable.
