We acknowledge that we are in Mi’kma’ki, which is the traditional ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people.

From Ms. McKay:

Welcome to Samuel Mundy, a pre-service teacher studying at MSVU and working with Mr. Leveck.

There will be an Options to Anger session starting in February. If you feel like you would like to learn strategies to deal with frustration and how to better handle your anger, please see Ms. McKay in the main office for more information.

Family Literacy Day is on January 27. The purpose of Family Literacy Day is to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family. The theme this year is Travel the World. Use your imagination to go exploring and travel the world together as a family – you never know what you’ll learn! Plan your dream trip, learn about another culture and open your mind to the world. For more information: https://abclifeliteracy.ca/all-programs/family-literacy-day/.

There will be a Pop-Up Library outside the school at lunch time hosted by the Woodlawn Library on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

From Ms. Crocker:
Do you love writing? Why not write a short story about “a day in the life” of a Black Loyalist in NS? This could be your entry for the Buddy Daye Contest. https://dbdli.ca/community-youth/the-2021-african-nova-scotian-history-c...

From Mr. Fraser:
There will be a Band Performance in the Gym all day on Thursday, Jan 28, which will be recorded. Details on how this performance can be viewed by parents will be communicated as soon as possible. ALL Band students are reminded to have their instruments and music with them next Thursday.
