Ellenvale Junior High

Holiday Classroom Christmas Wish List Project

T’is the season!

Only weeks before Christmas, and all through the school,
Our teachers are thinking about what would be cool.

They appreciate the treats, baubles and gestures of kindness and goodwill,
Yet, what they truly wish is for their classroom “wish lists ‘, to be filled.

For those of you who may struggle with ideas, and may want to do good,
A contribution towards our classroom wish lists would be so appreciated, it really would.

And so this suggestion is made from the heart,
At the request of our teachers, as that is where these kind thoughts start.

Feel free to inquire about what is needed if you like to shop on your own,
Or contribute with a donation to the school, or a charity around town.

This request comes with no pressure at all, you need not even travel to the mall,
Just a wish for a Merry Christmas, the best yet, and to have a grateful heart to one and all.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The Christmas Classroom Wish List was brought forward by parents at the School Advisory Committee and EPG (Ellenvale Project Group) this year.  Thanks to SAC Chair Donna Gallant for her very creative writing piece above and thanks to Nadine Grimm for coordinating the effort!

If you would like to make a donation of money, in lieu of a gift, toward our school wish list or a specific teacher wish list, please drop by the office. We will ensure your money gift goes to the correct classroom account and a notification of your gift will be forwarded to the intended teacher, if applicable.  Even the smallest dollar amount contribution will help to subsidize the items on the lists.  Please do not feel pressured to give, this is simply meant to be a fun and practical way to get into the spirit of giving this holiday season.  Whether you choose to donate to the classroom or the school lists, or whether you choose to donate anonymously, we will receipt all contributions.  You can also receive an official HRSB charitable donation receipt for tax purposes for donation amounts exceeding $100.00, if we should be so fortunate.

If you would like to peruse these wish lists, please go to the school website (https://elj.hrsb.ca). They will continue to be updated throughout the year.

The staff of Ellenvale Junior High School would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family the very best of everything this holiday season. We hope you have a safe and joy-filled time together.

Many thanks for your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Nadine Grimm, EPG Chair
Donna Gallant, SAC Chair
Jeff Lewis, Principal
