Halifax Public Library Summer Reading Program - Share in Family Newsletters:
The TD Summer Reading Club at Halifax Public Libraries is a free program that encourages kids to read over their summer break from school. The program is open to kids of all ages, interests, and abilities. It gives kids an opportunity to learn and grow with each story. Kids set their own points goal, track their activities, and report back at the Library to earn prizes throughout the summer. Reading over the summer helps kids stay fresh for back to school in September. To learn more, check out our website and watch our fun SRC promotional video!

Paying school-related fees is about to get easier!
We’re excited to let you know HRCE is launching a new system that will allow you to make payments electronically. From lunch orders to yearbook fees, families will be able to make all payments safely and securely through SchoolCash Online. It will be available in all schools for the 2021-22 school year. We will be sharing more information about the sign-up process as it becomes available.

Survey for Families: Share Your Thoughts
As we plan for the 2021-22 school year, we want to hear about your experiences with both in-person and at-home learning. We hope you will take a few minutes to complete a short survey to identify what worked, what didn’t and what we can do to improve.

There are two versions – one for parents/guardians and one for students in Grades 7-12.

If you’re a Parent/Guardian:
Click here to fill out the survey in English
Click here to fill out the survey in French

If you’re a Student in Grades 7-12:
Click here to fill out the survey in English
Click here to fill out the survey in French

Both surveys will close on June 27, 2021.

Share your family’s experience! Your feedback matters, especially as we plan for September.

SOAR!
Have you received a SOAR in each category? This means you received one for respecting yourself, others, and academics, as well as, responsible behaviour. If this is you, come submit your name to the office!

National Indigenous People’s Day – Monday, June 21
We encourage all Ellenvale students to learn more about the culture and heritage of our indigenous peoples.

From Ms. Jackson:
If you have any books from the Woodlawn Library that need to be returned, please return them to our Library.
2020-21 Yearbooks:

Yearbooks will be distributed today during last period! There are 6 yearbooks remaining to be sold. If you bring in $25, one of those 6 could be yours!

Acknowledging Mr. Jeff Lewis’s career and retirement:
You are invited to contribute to a gift to honour and appreciate Mr. Lewis’ contribution and dedication to education. Mr. Lewis retired on May 1. Please drop off donations to the school (cheques made out to Ellenvale Junior High School). We will add your name to the card. We are hoping to gift him a memorable getaway to Trout Point Lodge (https://www.troutpoint.com/)

Planning for 2021-22 School Year:
