This fundraiser is to support our outdoor classrooms, our Grade 9 promotion plans, and, hopefully, to purchase more Chrome Books toward our goal of one for every student. Tickets are for sale until May 17, 2021, midnight. The draw will take place on May 18, 2021, at the school. The winner will be contacted by email and/or phone.

From Ms. Crocker:
Students and staff are encouraged to design a Black Lives Matter tee shirt to be made for all Ellenvale Eagles. We welcome your creative designs and they can be dropped off to the main office. This coming Monday is the deadline for submitting your designs!

The GLSEN Day of Silence is a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies all around the country—and the world—take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools. Did you know that almost 1/3 of LBGTQ+ youth miss school because they don’t’ feel safe? If you ever don’t feel safe at school, find a trusted adult in the building with whom to talk. If you'd like to help make Ellenvale more inclusive for all think about participating in the Day of Silence tomorrow. The whole point is to acknowledge that many people in the LGBTQ+ community have been silenced by discrimination and bullying. Sign up in the main office to participate!

Don’t Miss Out – Order your Yearbook NOW!!
Please drop by the office with $25 (cash preferred) to order your 2021 yearbook!
Speaking of the yearbook, Grade 9 students can submit baby photos for a fun guessing page. Anyone interested can email them to chapmagx@hotmail.com.

From Ms. Crocker:
Girls Group with Moe Green meets at 11am in the Learning Commons tomorow.
Guys Group with Moe Green meets at 1pm in the Learning Commons tomorrow.

From 905 Civics Group:
Today’s tip to avoid being a bucket dipper is to not call COVID the “Chinese-virus” or “kung flu”. The use of these terms is offensive and leads to that all Asians are the cause of the Coronavirus epidemic. Thanks for listening and learning how to be more kind.

A canteen will be hosted by 905 in the front of the school for the first 15 minutes of lunch from Monday to Friday this week. There will be pop, chips, chocolate bars and more. Everything is under two dollars so bring your cash and help support homeless people in Dartmouth through Margaret’s House. Weather has determined that the canteen will be coming to your classes today, starting around 11:30am.

From the Learning Centre:
There are some clean, gently worn, gender neutral, girls size 7 sneakers and flats available to anyone who is interested.  Please see Ms. Vee, Ms. O or Ms. W in the learning centre and they will show them to you. You can also tell your teacher that you are interested and they will let the learning centre know. There are also clean and gently worn hoodies and jeans if you wish to take a look at those.

Parents:
We recently handed out two cloth masks for all our students. However, we are still in need of donations of disposable masks as students frequently forget to bring a mask (or two) to school with them, or their mask breaks or it gets too wet and they need another mask. We gratefully receive all your donations and thank you so much for the generous support you have shown all school year.
