Raffle tickets for the two gift baskets valued at $250 are $2 each or 3 for $5. All unsold/unused tickets must be returned to the school office. Extra tickets are available in the office. All monies and tickets sold (or unsold) must be turned into the office today, please. Thanks for your help and Good Luck!

 

Also: Advance admission cost for the Bingo is $10 for 15 games of Bingo if purchased by today. Students who bring in their bingo form (distributed to home rooms yesterday) by today, will be eligible for an early bird draw for prizes.

From Mrs. Crocker:

Did you know that today is International Women’s Day? International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It’s not about saying women are better than men, it’s about recognizing that women and men do not have gender parity or equity...yet. This year’s theme asks people think about how they will #PressforProgress.

Will you challenge bias and stereotypes? Will you celebrate female achievements? Will you influence people’s opinions and ideas about women?

Stop by the library today to snap your picture with a #PressforProgress poster and get a little treat.

From Mrs. Hamilton:

Calling all chess players---sign up outside the library door for the chess tournament being held in the library at lunchtime starting March 28. So far only 4 people have signed up. The event will be cancelled if there is not more interest. Also, students are reminded that, if they come in to the library either at lunch OR first thing in the morning, they need to plan on staying --as long as there is a chair available--please, no coming and going.

 

From Ms. Patterson:

A reminder to all Duke of Edinburgh participants that they need to get their forms and money in to Mrs. Patterson. Also, anyone who missed the mandatory meeting last week needs to see Mrs. Patterson to get what they missed.

 

From Mr. Gabriel:

For any grade 9 students planning to apply to Prince Andrew for the O2 program; completed applications are due in the Guidance office on March 22nd. That is the first Thursday back to school after March break.

ALSO

For grade 9s and their parents: By logging in to PowerSchool, students and parents can review the course selections requested for next year until March 22 (first Thursday back to school after March break).

​Shortly after, when the portal to change closes, these requests will be printed and sent home with students as well.

 

From Ms. Doolan:

The girls’ basketball players need to return their uniforms to Mrs. Doolan ASAP. There are still a number of uniforms not returned.

From Ms. Doucette:

Traditional Indian Dance group will be held in room 220 today (Thursday) at 11:45 for the whole lunch period. Students are asked to bring their lunch to the room. They will be given time to eat.

 

There will be a blood donor clinic at Woodlawn United Church on Monday, March 26. Please book your appointment at blood.ca.

 

Friday, March 9, is an Assessment and Evaluation Day for Teachers. There are no classes for students.
