African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker Program

Akwaaba (Welcome),

We would like to invite your student to participate in the African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker Program. The African Nova Scotian Student Support Worker Program provides support to promote the academic and cultural self-esteem of African Nova Scotian students.  Student Support Workers serve as positive role models and also work collaboratively with administration, teachers, parents/guardians and the community to support students in areas that impact their educational achievement.  This referral is part of the ongoing efforts of the school team to identify and meet your student's needs at school.
If you are interested in the program, please see the attached consent form.

Inclusive education is a commitment to ensuring a high-quality, culturally and linguistically responsive and equitable education to support the well-being and achievement of every student. All students should feel that they belong in an inclusive school—accepted, safe, and valued—so they can best learn and succeed. ~ Nova Scotia Inclusive Education Policy 2019.
