• Today we speak about Bill Riley, born in Amherst, Riley went on to become the first ANS to play in the NHL. He made his debut with the Washington Capitals in 1974. Upon finishing his NHL career he went on to be a professional coach in the AHL and then became the legendary coach of the Amherst Ramblers of the Maritime Junior A League. In 1998, Riley was inducted into the NS Sports Hall of Fame
