• Today for African Heritage Month we speak about William Hall, the first Black person and the first Nova Scotian to earn the Victoria Cross, the Empire’s apex bravery award. Yesterday we honoured him for Heritage Day. Hall’s valour, though initially overlooked, is immortalized in many places and commemorative objects, a testament to his enduring impact.
