General Announcements

  • Today please remember to be kind, respectful and inclusive to each other in our hallways, classrooms and community. 
  • National Indigenous Month theme this week is the children and the youth. A chance to learn about art and stories, sports heroes and great activities. Please check out the link on our website for more information and resources as well as the link to Indigenous kids and youth authors.
  • Today is Juneteenth, which is a federal holiday in the US commemorating the emancipation of African slaves. It is also often observed for celebrating African culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1865. The holiday is now starting to be recognized in Canada as well because of our history of slavery.
