We are excited to share a summer opportunity for young musicians ages 7–18.
Scotia Suzuki has offered scholarship support for their Music Intensive Camp taking place July 20–24 in Halifax. Selected students will receive $200 off the $397 camp tuition, with additional support potentially available for students who would be an excellent fit but may still face financial barriers. This year’s camp combines focused musical growth with a unique cultural experience featuring African music, song, and dance led by guest artist Toria Aidoo from Ghana.
This camp may be a great fit for students who:
- Already play an instrument and want to build their skills
- Enjoy being challenged and learning alongside other young musicians
- Are interested in exploring new musical styles and cultures
- Would enjoy preparing for and performing in a final concert
Students participate in:
- Daily instrument instruction in small groups
- African music and cultural classes
- Elective options such as composition, fiddle, accompaniment, art, and step dance
- Ensemble rehearsals and a Friday Concert Finale for families
The program welcomes students from keen beginners to advanced players and creates a supportive environment where every musician can grow.
