Today we recognize Micah Smith, a leader dedicated to empowering her community. She was born and raised in North Preston. She is a member of the ECMA, winning Hallelujah Praise Choir and Director of the Baptist Youth Fellowship. In 2023, Micah launched Crescendo Fest, amplifying African Nova Scotian and Black artists. As a JUNOfest Producer for the 2024 JUNO Awards, Micah continues to celebrate Black music and culture, bridging music and community empowerment to inspire meaningful change.
Ramadan started Tuesday evening, it is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, communal prayer, reflection, and community. It is also the month in which the Quran is believed to have been revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
