Today, for AHM, we honour Chief Don MacLean, lifelong resident of Halifax, was appointed the first Black Police Chief of Halifax Regional Police in September 2023. He began his policing career in 1993. He was appointed Chief of Halifax Regional Police in September of 2023 and sworn-in on October 9, 2024.
