Christmas Spirit week is around the corner (Dec 14 to 18), so get your red, white and green ready, get your ugly Christmas sweaters ready and let’s have a friendly homeroom competition. Top two homerooms accumulating points at each grade level will win a pizza party!
Dec. 14: Christmas Colours Day: Red and Green, Silver and Gold
Dec. 15: Christmas Character Day: reindeers, Santas, Elves
Dec. 16: Christmas Sock Day
Dec. 17: Christmas Sweater Day: Ugly or not—all are acceptable
Dec. 18: Pajama Day: Christmas PJS or not – all are acceptable

A number of our students are home due to regular illnesses, for covid testing, or just staying home due to an abundance of caution and parents are requesting work packages. In regard to sending work packages home, there is no at-home learning support until we receive notice from HRCE and Public Health. However, some of your child’s teachers may already be providing work outlines/homework instructions on google classroom and your child can always check there for work. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Parent Teacher Meetings:
After December 1, you may contact Mrs. Cottingham in the school office at 435-8420 to book an appointment. Report Cards will be coming home to you on TODAY.
Parent-teacher meetings will be held on Thursday, December 3, from 1 to 3 pm and from 6 to 8pm in 5-minute blocks (1 minute between interviews).
Please be patient and understanding as this is the first time we will be conducting our interviews virtually. Please take time to test your device is working with audio and video. It is a learning experience for us all! If you are on an OPTIS waiting list, the teacher will contact you. If you do not get your opportunity for some reason to meet virtually with your child’s teachers, please do send teachers an email if you wish to discuss your child’s progress and the teacher will contact you.

PowerSchool Portal Access:
Access to grades and comments is disabled in the Student/Parent Portal from November 2 until December 3. Students and parents can access the portal for schedules, attendance and other information, while teachers work on report cards in PowerTeacher Pro during this time.

Students are reminded not to open the door to visitors. Visitors ring the bell and are let in by the office only.

Tomorrow is a PD day. There are no classes for students (the Robotics Club will not be meeting either). Parent- teacher meetings will be held via google meets during the afternoon and evening.
