FromMr. Lewis:
We will be auditioning student announcers to assist with morning announcements and O’ Canada. We will be preparing some segments in French and some in English. Please sign up beside Mr. Lewis office if you are interested.

Lunch Time Expections:
Students who eat lunch at school go directly to the gym at 11:45 to eat. Students who eat lunch off school grounds leave the school grounds at 11:45 and do not return until 12:40pm. Students who are permitted to eat lunch at school and then leave school grounds, do not leave the gym until 12:10 (or when dismissed by the gym supervisor). These students are not to be in the hallways from 11:50 to 12:10—you are to be in the gym. All students must be outside by 12:15. Students are not permitted to stay unsupervised in the school from 12:15 to 12:45.
Conduct in gym:

Girls’ Soccer Team is posted outside the gym. The girls are asked to pick up their Athletic Policy/Agreement forms at the office please. Their first practice is TODAY at 5pm.

Boys Soccer team list is posted outside the gym. The boys are asked to pick up their Athletic Policy/Agreement forms at the office please.

Our First Fundraiser for 2019-20!! - Quickie Cookie Dough Fundraiser.
Funds raised by band students help to subsidize the cost of their big band trip in May. Funds raised by non-band students will go to a variety of events/guest speakers/extra-curricular activities for all the student body. Band students will return their orders to Mr. Fraser and non-band students will return their orders to the office please. Completed orders are due back by Wednesday, September 25. The delivery date for the cookie dough is Thursday, October 10, and containers will be ready to pick up at 6:30pm. Thank you for your participation and generous support.

Fun Lunches On-Line!
Instructions on how you can place lunch orders for Pita Pit (Tuesdays), Sunwich (Mon, Tues and Fri) and Kenny’s Pizza (Thursdays) for your child(ren) on-line and delivered to the school were distributed last Friday –paper copies to each student and emailed to all parents/guardians.

Duke of Edinburgh:
There will be a Duke of Edinburgh Information Session for grade 9 students interested in participating in this year-long program. This session will take place at 11:45 on Wednesday, September 18, in the Learning Commons. Bring your lunch to the meeting! Registration forms will be distributed to those who attend this meeting.

Breakfast Program:
Our Breakfast program will start by the end of the month. We are in need of parent volunteers to supervise the breakfast program from 8:05 to 8:35am. You could do one day a week or whatever works best for you. Please contact Jeff Carruthers (jcarruthers@hrce.ca) if you are interested or have questions.

Picture Day is Tuesday, September 17 – 8:45 to 2:30pm in the Library. Classes will be invited to the library when it is their turn. Retakes will happen on Tuesday, October 15.

And the winner of the ice cream cake competition is:   Congratulations to homerooms 704 and 705, who tied for first place, for submitting a completed list of paid fees and returned forms! Homeroom 906 was a very close second, so they get an ice cream cake too!

The next cross country practice will be after school TODAY. Sign-up sheet is located outside the gym doors, all are welcome to join. Please be ready and dressed to run in the main lobby by 3pm.
