In preparation for our Gift Card Basket Fundraising Raffle on February 28 (same night as our upcoming Community BINGO – details to follow), we greatly appreciate your donations of gift cards valued at $10 or more. These can be dropped off at the office. Tickets for the raffle of two gift cards valued at approximately $250 each will be distributed to each student for sale. Each student will go home with a letter regarding this fundraiser today and an email was sent home to parents last night regarding the same.

It was an active day at the Clash of Coins front yesterday. 702, 705, 802, and 804 sustained heavy damage, but 806 looks worse for wear with negative 475 points. 905 has built up heavy defenses with 771 points, but 701 looks impregnable with 1225 positive points. Can your class get them? Can you build up your own defenses? Bring your change to the gymateria at lunch and get in on the action.

There will be a MANDATORY Duke of Ed meeting on Wednesday, January 16th. This will take the entire lunch hour so come prepared with your lunch.

The grade 7 oval trip has been rescheduled for Monday, January 28. Please see Ms. Pike if you can no longer attend, or  . . . if you can now attend the trip.

From Ms. Doolan:
The girls’ basketball team has their first league game Monday at home. Girls need to sweep and set up the gym. Spectators are asked to leave the building and return at 3:45 for a 4:00 start time. Anyone not able to play needs to let Mrs. Doolan know.

The boys’ basketball team played a great game on Tuesday against Eric Graves. They had a slow start; however, they rallied hard and redeemed themselves in the second half. They may have lost the game, but came away with lots of  respect. Ellenvale is proud of you guys! The team has a practice today from 3:15-5pm and another game this Tuesday. Any players who did not hand in the Athletic agreement and fee are asked to bring it to Ms. Doucette today.
