Jazz Band - Lunch, Wednesday in the Band Room. Open to all grades
Grade 8 Band Rehearsal- Lunch, Thursday in the Band Room - all Grade 8 Band students
Christmas Band - After school, Thursday in the Band Room - 3:00-4:00.Open to all grades
Grade 7 Band Rehearsal - Lunch, Friday in the Band - all Grade 7 Band students.
Our Cookie Dough Campaign will continue until September 30, Completed order forms, money need to be submitted by Oct. 6 at the latest. Cookie dough orders will arrive Thursday, October 20. Forms have been given to students.
Our Celtic band did a fabulous job and the Halifax Celtic Festival Administration is still talking about it. It appears it will become an annual event.
Scale assessments are scheduled to begin the week of October 10.
WE ACTors will meet on TODAY at 12:10 in room 205 for anyone who was involved last year as well as anyone interested in joining – all welcome!
All parents welcome! September 22 – Thursday 6 to 8pm. There will also be a parent band meeting at 5:30pm in the Band Room that evening.
Student volunteers who can assist with various duties on Thursday Sept 22 for the curriculum evening, please submit your names to Mrs. Cottingham at the main office.
There will be a very brief meeting for the girls’ soccer team in the MPR room at the beginning of lunch and a girls’ soccer practice after school today until 3:45.Volleyball
Any girls interested in trying out for volleyball are asked to please sign the sheet posted outside of the gym on the bulletin board.
There will be a girls’ football tryout this Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 3pm on the back field. All girls interested please attend.
Friday Fun Song
Students are reminded to vote for the Friday Fun Song! There are voting cards just outside Ms. Sinclair's room - Room 113. Be sure to get your vote in by Friday to hear your song!:)
Grade 7 Immunization Forms:
The Public Health Nurse for our school wants to remind Grade 7 students to try and return their Immunization forms by tomorrow. Also, would teachers please send the forms to the office, rather than hold onto them as previously requested. The Public Health Nurse will be coming to pick them up.
BEA (Black Educators Association) Parent/Student Information Session:
Ellenvale School is hosting this event on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 6 to 9pm. This session is for parents and students (Jr. High and High School) who would like to know more about the education system in Nova Scotia.
YOLO – After School Program
This free program is for Grade 7 to 9 students on Mondays from 3 to 4:30pm in the Ellenvale School gym, beginning today! It is a partnership between Woodlawn Public Library and our school.
Our school’s bus evacuation practice is on Thursday, September 22. Classes will be called down when it is their turn to participate.
