Second terms ends April 1. March is a short teaching month. All Band students should now have completed their scale assessments, theory books, and in-class reflections.

 

March is Nutrition MonthSome foods travel far for you to eat. A banana can travel over 4300km from Costa Rica while a Nova Scotia apple only travels 100km. Choosing apples or fruits that are grown locally is better for you and the environment.

Yearbook

The yearbook committee is looking for artistic and short poetic pieces to be featured in this year's yearbook. The art work is asked to be representative of the school community and of the artist. Please submit your art work or poetry to Mr. Klasz by e-mail or in room 218. 

The yearbook committee is also looking for Grade 9 Baby Pictures. These can be sent to Mr. Klasz by e-mail or as a hard copy in room 218 with your name and class on the back of the photo. The deadline for submission of art work, poetry and baby pictures is March 31st. 

There will be a very important yearbook meeting in Mr. Klasz's room at 12:10 on Thursday. It is very important that all members attend this meeting. If you cannot attend, please let Mr. Klasz or Ms. Sparks know prior to the meeting.

Grade 9 Year End

All Grade 9s are reminded to bring in their 25 dollars for their boat cruise in June. The final price has been reduced to about 35 dollars, but 75 tickets must be sold for that price and the deadline is this Thursday for the deposit.

Girls Basketball

Girls' basketball team are reminded to return their uniforms to Mrs. Doolan as soon as possible.

Community BINGO!
Bring yourselves, family, friends and neighbours to raise funds for year-end student activities on March 31, Thursday. Doors open at 6pm and BINGO starts at 7pm. $15 for all games or $5 for 3 games. Up to $2500 in prizes to be won. There will be a canteen and pizza and a 50/50 draw. An email announcement will be going home to all parents tonight! If you want a paper copy of the flyer, please come to the office to pick one up. Volunteers (teachers and students) are needed on the evening for a variety of tasks. Please let the office know if you are willing to help out for some or all of the evening.

Li’l Sisters Race is a fun, non-competitive run/walk for young women up to the age of 18 on Saturday, June 11 at 11am at Shubie Park. Register on line at www.lilsistersraces.com by June 5 2016. Race size is capped at 500 so register early!!
